Hawthorn's new podcast 'Hawks in Review' takes an in-depth look at Hawthorn's recent performance. Host Andrew Clarke will be joined by a different assistant coach each week to analyse the result and provide insight into Hawthorn's strategy and game plan. For Round 2, Forward Coach Adem Yze is in the hot seat to explain what went wrong in the second half of Friday night's loss...
"We knew we weren't playing at our best, but we thought we had some real opportunities," Yze laments, after watching the Hawks go from within six points at half-time, to suffering a 61-point blow at the hands of Geelong.
"The wheels fell off in the third quarter. Once a team gains momentum with the shorter quarters, it's really hard to peg back."
So what exactly went wrong? Yze discusses the impact of the skinnier ground and the dewy conditions, and divulges what changes the Hawks made to try and work their way back. Find out in the latest episode of Hawks in Review below, or search for it in your chosen podcast provider.
