GWS forward Jeremy Cameron has been handed a one-match ban for his bump on Hawthorn star Jarryd Roughead.
Roughead was attacking the ball and went to his knees to pick it up as Cameron charged in and collected him high.
The Hawthorn forward was able to get up and play out the match in the immediate aftermath, however, Cameron has been hit with a one-week ban due to previous indiscretions.
He was charged with rough conduct.
The incident, which occurred in the second quarter of Hawthorn’s 7-point win was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points).
That is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level One Offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
Due to his existing bad record of 93.75 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, the penalty was increased to 218.75 points and a two-match sanction.
An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 164.06 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
