HAWTHORN will play in a Saturday Preliminary Final at the MCG in two weeks, the AFL has confirmed.

The Hawks will take on the winner of the Fremantle v Port Adelaide/Richmond game to be played next Saturday.

A time is yet to be confirmed for the Preliminary Final, which will be played on Saturday 20 September.

Hawthorn has been given the Saturday final due to Sydney winning its Qualifying Final, with preference going to the Swans for finishing as minor premiers.

After defeating the Cats by 36 points in Friday night's Qualifying Final at the MCG, the Hawks advanced straight to the third week of the finals series, earning a week off.

Tickets will be available to purchase via Ticketek on Monday 15 September for members. Further ticketing details will be provided once the opponent and time of the match are confirmed next weekend.
