STAR Fremantle midfielder Nathan Fyfe could miss Friday night’s Grand Final re-match at the MCG after being hit with a two-match suspension by the Match Review Panel on Monday.

Full back Zac Dawson could also miss the clash after being slapped with a one-match ban.

Fyfe was cited by the MRP for rough conduct against Gold Coast’s Michael Rischitelli in the Dockers’ 48-point victory on Saturday.

Due to a poor record and a 50-point loading for a bad record, Fyfe’s suspension cannot be reduced under MRP rules, even if he accepts an early plea.

It means if he is to play against the Hawks on Friday night, Fremantle would need to successfully challenge his suspension at the AFL Tribunal.

Fyfe has been in exceptional form in the opening two rounds of the season, gathering 20 disposals against Collingwood and 29 against Gold Coast on Saturday.

The incident was classified as a level two offence, drawing 225 demerit points based on its grading as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points).

His bad record of 50 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months increased the penalty to 275 points and a two-match sanction.

An early plea would see the sanction reduced to 206.25 points and a two-match sanction.

Dawson was cited for tripping Brandon Matera in the second quarter of the victory and given a one-week ban because of his poor record.

An early plea will also not save him from missing the crucial clash.

Fremantle has until 11am on Tuesday to accept or challenge the bans.
