Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O'Meara will make his return to the line-up when the side takes on Richmond on Thursday night.

After playing in the Hawks side that defeated Brisbane in Round 1, O'Meara missed last week's loss to Geelong after scans revealed a minor fracture in his forehead following a training incident.

GM - Football Graham Wright said O'Meara would provide a valuable boost to the team's midfield's stocks ahead of the clash with the Tigers.

"We're excited to bring Jaeger back into the side as we look to redeem last week's performance," Wright said.

"I think the short, six-day break between games has helped us and the boys are really hungry to put it in a strong effort this week.

"Hopefully we can do our members and supporters proud with a strong response this week."

Young Hawk Harry Morrison will make way for O'Meara, who is set to play his 50th game in the brown and gold.
