Hawthorn midfielder Jaeger O'Meara is set to play his 50th game for the club against Richmond on Thursday night.
Joining the Hawks ahead of the 2017 season after five years with the Gold Coast Suns, O'Meara made his debut in the brown and gold in the season opener against Essendon.
His first campaign with the Hawks was ultimately a frustrating one, with the explosive midfielder managing just six appearances for the season.
But, since then, the 26-year-old's durability has improved enormously, featuring in 43 of the Hawks' last 48 games.
Jaeger is back as the Hawks set their sights on atonement
The 2019 season saw O'Meara deliver career-best numbers as he averaged 25.8 disposals, 5.9 tackles and 6.2 clearances, numbers that earned him third place in the Peter Crimmins Medal count.
The highlight of his year came in Round 6 against Carlton where he amassed a career-high 42 disposals, including 23 contested possessions, nine clearances and seven inside 50s, as well as a goal to be an obvious choice for the three Brownlow votes.
Having stepped up to the role of club vice-captain this year, O'Meara's return on Thursday night will provide the Hawks an invaluable boost as they look to take their place back on the winners' list.
