GREATER Western Sydney will be without key pair Adam Treloar and Sam Reid when it takes on Hawthorn at Aurora Stadium on Saturday.
Reid was recruited to the Club ahead of the Giants’ inaugural season in the AFL, making the move from Western Bulldogs.
The tough half back is a senior body in a group of slightly built youngsters, and provides both aggression and skill to his team’s half backline.
He would have perhaps been set for a role on Hawthorn’s Luke Breust who is particularly dangerous around goals.
Treloar is an impressive midfielder who has developed into one of the Giants’ most promising players since making his debut last season.
He averaged 21.1 disposals in his debut season and has played 25 games in his short career.
His silky skills are an asset to the Giants and is ranked second at the club for disposal behind co-Captain Callan Ward.
In good news for the Giants, however, young gun Tom Bugg returns to the side to add grunt to the midfield and half backlines.
Bugg burst onto the scene in 2012 with his mature body holding him good stead for his first season at senior level.
He has played six games this season and has continued to build on his impressive first year in the AFL.
