Tune up before facing Roos
The Hawks hit the oval at the Ricoh Centre for a final tune up ahead of the practice match against North Melbourne in Craigieburn on Saturday.
Lance Franklin, Luke Hodge, Jordan Lewis, Sam Mitchell and other big name players all honed their skills in a session that tested their ability to react at stoppages and find a teammate in traffic.
Assistant Coach Brendon Bolton was leading the stoppage drill, where players tested the structures learnt over the summer.
Players were then split into four groups - one practicing their ruckwork, another their ball handing below their knees and the two remaining groups testing their ability to move the ball by foot in a confined space.
Training then made its way indoors as some players took part in a fast-paced, light-hearted handballing drill that put them under pressure testing their ability to handle the footy cleanly.
All eyes are on Lance Franklin as he leaps for a big overhead mark as Luke Lowden tries to spoil.
Black eye and all, Josh Gibson fires a handpass past Xavier Ellis.
Ben Stratton gets wrapped up while Taylor Duryea seems to find the funny side before being slung to the ground by Brent Guerra.
On opposing teams, Jed Anderson and David Hale fight for a footy that's in dispute.
He's under a huge amount of pressure, but Franklin still manages to fire off a handpass despite being tackled.
Jordan Lewis finds some space after a stoppage drill and takes a quick snap for goal.
Paul Puopolo lays a crunching tackle on Gibson, Burgoyne gathers but is about to be caught by Mitchell.
Liam Shiels is on the receiving end of a big don't argue from Buddy.
Brad Sewell looks to receive a pass on the fly and escape the pressure about to be applied.
He gets caught though, by defender Ryan Schoenmakers.
Sam Mitchell looks for options to kick to during the session while Ellis shows off his kicking skills.
As balanced as ever, Grant Birchall looks for a teammate while Lewis delivers on the run.
Gibson takes a mark and in his usual style, looks to play on and move the ball quickly before Michael Osborne has a chance to react.
Training then moved inside where Jack Gunston, Matt Spangher and Sam Mitchell were among a group of players challenging each other in the handball drill.
Bradley Hill was determined not to fumble the footy.
While Issac Smith decided to have a bit of fun with it, and try two footys at once, throwing one up while catching the other coming towards him.
