Hawthorn CEO Stuart Fox has welcomed the release of the Club’s 2014 fixture, which he says provides plenty of positives for Hawks members and fans.

“Overall we are pleased with the 2014 fixture, both from a football and commercial perspective,” Fox said.

“We have drawn blockbuster home matches at the MCG against Geelong, Collingwood, Sydney Swans and Fremantle, which are certain to attract big crowds.”

Every Hawks’ game will be televised live on Foxtel and 15 games – up from 13 last season – will be broadcast free-to-air on the Seven Network.

“Six Friday night and four Saturday night games present excellent commercial opportunities for sponsors and partners in prime-time television markets,” he said.

The Hawks will launch their 2014 season in Tasmania in a twilight fixture at Aurora Stadium against Brisbane Lions before returning to the MCG in Round 3 for the clash against grand final opponents Fremantle.

“The traditional unveiling of our premiership flag at our first home game at the MCG in Round 3 will be a huge highlight for our fans early in the season, and we are delighted to be able to share the moment with our supporters in Tasmania in Round 1 also.”

“It’s a great start to the season for our Tassie Hawks members and supporters, with a good spread of games at Aurora Stadium in Launceston, in addition to a Friday night NAB Cup match against North Melbourne.”
