WEST COAST veteran Andrew Embley can accept a one-match ban for kneeing Hawthorn defender Ben Stratton.
Embley was seen dropping his knees into Stratton while he was on the ground in the second quarter of Friday night's match, an incident the defender revealed in the aftermath of the win “revved” him up for the contest.
The Eagle can have his sanction reduced by one week if he takes the early plea handed down by the Match Review Panel on Monday.
Embley has been charged with a level two misconduct offence, drawing 225 demerit points under the MRP system.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Hawthorn Football Club, the incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point).
That results in a level two offence, which draws 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction.
He has no existing good or bad record.
An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-match sanction.
