WITH Justin Westhoff out through suspension for Saturday’s clash against Hawthorn, the Power could look to bring in an extra forward to assist Jay Schulz.

Schulz has again been Port Adelaide’s best forward this season, having kicked 28 goals this season to be the leading goal kicker at the club.

But as good as he is, with his marking ability and speed on the lead combined with his exceptional goal kicking routine, Schulz can’t do it alone.

Westhoff has contributed 20 goals this season, but won’t be there on Saturday to assist his teammate.

Power Coach Ken Hinkley confirmed on Thursday prized former first-round draft pick John Butcher is the logical choice to replace Westhoff and player as another key forward against the Hawks on Saturday at AAMI Stadium.

"It makes sense we'll replace Hoff with ‘Butch’," Hinkley told media on Thursday.

"Butcher was unlucky to go out of the side and if he gets through training today it would make sense that we'd bring him in."

Butcher has played just three matches this season for a career total of 15 but hasn’t played for the Power in three weeks.

His last game was against the Giants in Round 12 when he booted two goals.

He burst onto the AFL scene in his debut season in 2011, when he played the last four rounds of the season and booted 11 goals in that time including a haul of six against Western Bulldogs.

Given Butcher has played just 15 AFL matches, however, Port Adelaide’s ability to kick a winning score won’t rest solely on his ability to make an impact in his fourth game for the season.

Small forward Angus Monfries (22 goals) will need to step up and kick multiple goals if the Power are to win while they will also rely on their midfielders like Chad Wingard, Travis Boak, Brad Ebert and Ollie Wines to impact the scoreboard.
