Puopolo's effort wins the best one percenter of 2013
Our fans have spoken. Paul Puopolo's attack on the footy through repeat efforts in the Grand Final has been chosen as the overwhelming winner of the best one percenter of 2013.
hawthornfc.com.au gave fans the opportunity to vote on five of the best efforts that usually go unnoticed by many as chosen by HawksTV to crown one the best of 2013, with Puopolo's efforts in the final quarter of the premiership win to lock the ball inside 50 voted the best.
Puopolo’s effort won with 65.3 per cent of the votes from Josh Gibson’s spoil and gather against Jimmy Bartel in the dying minutes of the Preliminary Final with 17.2 per cent of the votes.
Luke Hodge’s Round 12 collision with Marc Murphy to win the footy came in third (8.8 per cent), Brian Lake's chase on Josh Kennedy to force an errant kick in fourth (5.8 per cent) and ben Stratton's partial smother on Nick Riewoldt in fifth (3 per cent)
