The Hawks will take a near full strength side into its Round 2 NAB Cup clash against Western Bulldogs after naming a number of senior players for their first hit out of 2013.
Vice Captain Jordan Lewis, reigning Peter Crimmins medallist Sam Mitchell and midfielder Brad Sewell headline a list of gun Hawks who’ll take the field on Friday night at Etihad Stadium.
Despite suffering two surprise losses to Gold Coast and Brisbane on Saturday night, the Club has opted to stick with a similar line up, with stars Lance Franklin, Josh Gibson and Luke Breust among those to play in their second pre-season match of 2013.
As revealed on Monday, Paul Puopolo, Cyril Rioli and Brian Lake will miss through injury while recruits Jonathan Simpkin, Matt Spangher and Jed Anderson will play their second matches for the Club.
Among those not to play include Captain Luke Hodge, Liam Shiels, Shaun Burgoyne and Grant Birchall.
Three interchange players and three substitutes will be named from the squad on Friday night.
