Hill brothers make history
STEPHEN and Bradley Hill are set to become the first pair of brothers to play against each other in an AFL/VFL Grand Final since 1912 after both Hawthorn and Fremantle qualified for the 2013 decider.
Three sets of brothers have played on opposing sides in preliminary finals in the past three seasons.
Sydney Swans pair Sam Reid and Rhyce Shaw faced their brothers Ben Reid and Heath Shaw from Collingwood in last year's preliminary final at ANZ Stadium.
Three Selwood brothers played in the 2011 preliminary final between Geelong and West Coast, with Joel representing the Cats while Scott and Adam played for the Eagles.
But it appears that the Hill brothers will be the first to oppose each other in a Grand Final since Alan and Vic Belcher represented Essendon and South Melbourne respectively in the 1912 decider, won by the Bombers by 14 points.
