Frequently Asked Questions
I’m an eligible Hawthorn member. When do I register?
Wednesday 11th September. Check the Grand Final Ticketing Information Booklet for specific times you will be required to register
Will I get a similar seat at the Grand Final to the one I sit in during the Home and Away season?
Seating will not be like-for-like. Tickets will be allocated via the Ballot on a next best available basis, therefore members can receive a category 1-7 seat, restricted view or standing room ticket depending on which ticket option was chosen during the ballot registration process.
I’m a Priority One, Two or Three member and I haven’t received any information in the mail or via email. What do I do?
Contact the Club as soon as possible on 13000 HAWKS (1300 042 957).
I’m an AFL member (with a Hawthorn upgrade or AFL Silver) and my friends are Hawthorn members. Can we sit together?
If you register as part of the Hawthorn Football Club ballot, you waive your right to register through the AFL. If you wish to sit with a Hawthorn member, you must ensure you are entitled to register in the same priority group in order to be seated together.
I’m a Silver AFL member with Hawthorn Club Support – what priority am I?
AFL Silver members are Priority Three unless you have upgraded to a Priority One (Legends, Kennedy Club or Gold) or Priority Two (Silver, MCC Associate) membership through Hawthorn.
I’m an AFL Full Member – when do I register?
AFL member registrations are conducted on the Sunday before the game. Please refer to communication from the AFL for specific information relating to this procedure. Any AFL member that registers in the Hawthorn Football Club ballot will be removed from the AFL ballot by the AFL.
I require a wheelchair space and/or a companion for the game, and I haven’t received any information from the Club. What do I do?
Contact the Club as soon as possible on 13000 HAWKS (1300 042 957).
I suffer from a condition that means I need easily accessible seating at the MCG. How do I access this?
Contact the Club prior to Grand Final Registration Day on 13000 HAWKS (1300 042 957). A medical certificate will be required to process your registration. If a medical certificate cannot be provided then you must register in your allotted registration time.
I find it difficult to walk up stairs and require an easily accessible seat. What do I do?
Contact the Club prior to Grand Final Registration Day on 13000 HAWKS (1300 042 957). A medical certificate will be required to process your registration. If a medical certificate cannot be provided then you must register in your allotted registration time.
I have a Concession membership with Hawthorn Football Club and I am no longer a concession card holder. How does this affect my Grand Final registration?
Contact the Club as soon as possible on 13000 HAWKS (1300 042 957) to update your membership with the Club. Currently you are only entitled to purchase a concession ticket, and if you do not hold the required concession identification you may be refused entry to the MCG.
Can I sit with other members in different Priority Groups?
Yes – however you will be required to register in the lowest Priority Group of all members in the group. Please be aware that If you register in another Priority Group, you will lose the privileges of the higher Priority Group. For example, if a Priority One member wants to sit with a Priority Two member, you will be required to register during the Priority Two allocation, and the Priority One member will lose their Grand Final ticket guarantee.
Will registering early in my Registration Time increase my chances of getting a ticket and/or better seating?
No. Seats are allocated randomly for members who have successfully registered within their Registration Time
I can’t afford the highest ticket price. Can I choose which category of seating if I am successful?
Unfortunately members are unable to select a category of seating and should ensure they have sufficient funds available to pay for the highest category of seating (Category 1). Following the allocation of Grand Final tickets, attempts will be made to follow up rejected credit cards the day after the Preliminary final. Any payments which have not cleared by 5pm EST 22 September will result in the tickets being cancelled. These tickets will be reallocated to the next eligible member.
