HAWTHORN superstar Lance Franklin is raring to go after being named to take on Collingwood at the MCG tomorrow night.

Franklin has overcome the hamstring issue that kept him out of last Friday night’s win over St Kilda, but has trained strongly in the lead-up to tomorrow night’s clash against the Pies.

Speaking exclusively to hawthornfc.com.au ahead of the clash, Franklin says his hamstring feels good and he can’t wait to step out onto the MCG.

“All good, my hamstring is fine and I can’t wait to get out there against Collingwood,” he said.

“I’ve trained well this week and am really excited to get out there against a quality team.

“We know what’s coming this week, the boys are really pumped and can’t wait to get out there.”

The Hawks star admitted he has struggled sitting on the sidelines, having missed three of Hawthorn’s past five matches.

“I hate missing games of football, I love being out there with the boys and winning games,” he said.

“Missing one or two weeks is something that frustrates me because I just want to get out there.”

Franklin’s inclusion is timely for the Hawks, given his stellar record against the Pies.

The Hawks spearhead has kicked more goals against his team’s Round 21 opponents than any other side in his career, having kicked 50 goals in 12 games – an average of 4.2 goals per game.

That record is equal with his return of 50 against the Bombers and six more than his second-best record against any other side, having kicked 44 career goals against North Melbourne in 12 matches.

The last time Franklin returned from injury this season, in Round 18 against the Bombers, he booted a stunning eight goals in his side’s big win at Etihad Stadium.

“I’m hoping that happens again,” he joked about his eight-goal effort.

Franklin is more focused though on playing his role in a versatile and potent forward line brimming with a number of talented options.

Jarryd Roughead leads the Club’s goal kicking with 59, following by Franklin with 47 and Jack Gunston and Luke Breust with 31.

“We’re just looking for an even spread of goal kickers,” he said of Friday night’s clash.
