80 year member visits the Ricoh Centre
To celebrate the Club’s membership milestone, Hawthorn anointed life-time member Marjorie Flegg this week’s #1 Fan.
At 84 years of age, Marjorie has been a Hawks member for 80 years, epitomising what it means to be Always Hawthorn.
She became a member when she was aged 4.
In honour of her 80 years consecutive membership, Marjorie was greeted by Club CEO Stuart Fox who thanked her for her amazing support and spoke about all things Hawthorn. Fox also presented her with a number 80 guernsey, rather than the customary number 1 guernsey given to the #1 Fan of the week.
As part of the #1 Fan experience, Marjorie met Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson who introduced her to the selected 22 and three emergencies for tomorrow night's Grand Final re-match at the MCG.
Marjorie will be in attendance, sitting in her Gold reserved seats as she does for each Hawthorn match in Melbourne.
She says supporting Hawthorn has been an honour.
"It's been an honour, I've enjoyed every minute and all the premierships as well," she said at the Ricoh Centre on Friday.
