Hawthorn ruckman-cum-defender Ben McEvoy acknowledges the side's current form would be frustrating to watch for the Hawks faithful, but he has urged supporters not to panic just yet.

The Hawks have lost their past two games to GWS and Collingwood in rather lacklustre performances.

But McEvoy said he is confident the team will turn things around as it begins to acclimatise to its new realities.

"It is very frustrating but I think you have to take solace in the fact that it is not uncommon across the competition at the minute," McEvoy said.

"This is a very unique circumstance, none of us have ever been in this situation before.

"So, not using it as an excuse, but I feel like it is a little bit understandable - we haven't been able to train together.

"Outside of a couple of teams in the comp who have been consistent - and credit to them - everyone is a bit up and down so I don't think there is any need to panic, we just need to stick at it and hopefully we can smooth out some of those bumps."

McEvoy also said he could understand the criticism that the Hawks' game-style has drawn over the past fortnight.

"I haven't enjoyed watching back some of our games either.

"As players though, we're not trying to make it boring, we're trying to do the best we can to win.

"We haven't achieved that the last couple of weeks but that is all we can do, go out there and try to keep a winning score and win.

"It's frustrating we haven't been able to do that, but we don't worry too much about the outside noise on that."
