Hawthorn welcomes the Toulouse Hawks to the family
The Club has been in contact with 10 Hawks members living and breathing the game in Toulouse, France.
International members are hard to come by, but in recent weeks Hawthorn Football Club has been in contact with 10 Hawks members living and breathing the game in Toulouse, France.
The 10 proud, passionate and paid-up international members are part of a club that plays in ‘Football Australien’, the official AFL competition in France, which each year culminates in the ‘Mediterranean Cup’.
Once known as Toulouse Crocodiles Football Club, the team has had a re-vamp and is now known as Toulouse Hawks Football Club.
The new Toulouse Hawks proudly wear Hawthorn’s New Zealand jumper (black and silver, as pictured below), and consists of mainly French players with a handful of Aussie ex-pats who usually dominate the landscape of international footy.
It came as no surprise to the Club that the Hawks won every match in this year’s Mediterranean Cup.
In addition, a Toulouse Hawk was named player of the tournament, with a star by the name of Cyril - Cyril Mahamad - being named the best-on-ground.
