Hawthorn Football Club is proud to announce it has surpassed its all-time greatest membership figure, recording 56,410 members yesterday.

The Club has beaten its previous record of 56,224 members, which was achieved on 30 June 2011, by almost three months and is on target for its stated goal of 60,000 members in 2012.

Response from supporters to the Club’s 2012 ALWAYS HAWTHORN campaign has been outstanding, with the current tally of 56,410 more than 4,500 ahead of the same time last year (2011: 51,898).

Hawthorn Chief Executive Stuart Fox was delighted to confirm the news, with the Club now focused on its next membership milestone.

“This record-breaking achievement is another encouraging step towards our target of 60,000 members, which the Club has a real possibility of achieving in 2012, ” Fox said.

“The milestone marks significant and steady membership growth over the past four years, with Hawthorn having secured over 50,000 members every year from 2009.”

“I would like to congratulate every member who has signed-up for this season, which includes 8,111 Tassie Hawks members, and shown their support for the brown and gold.”

“For those non-renewed members and supporters who haven’t signed-up yet, I’d encourage you to get on board and secure your seat, for the Club has a real opportunity to reach its next goal of 60,000 members.”

“I would also like to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of the Club’s Membership team, who have created an engaging membership campaign in ALWAYS HAWTHORN, and will continue to provide outstanding services and packages for all of our members.”
