Hawks, Salvo’s scarf drive
Hawthorn Football Club and The Salvation Army are proud to launch their partnership to help beat the winter chill...
Every year, Hawks members receive a new membership scarf, which means that most have spare scarves in the back of their wardrobe.
The Hawks and the Salvation Army are calling on loyal members to get on board and donate their pre-loved scarves.
Members and supporters can do so at the Ricoh Centre, or at the Round 12 match the MCG against Brisbane, where the Salvation Army are the nominated match-day charity.
The Salvation Army will then distribute these scarves through a variety of programs throughout the year.
Each year, the Salvation Army assists more than one million Australians in need. Services and programs are offered across diverse areas such as homelessness, family crisis, emergency relief, addiction and domestic violence.
The ability to assist the most disadvantaged and marginalised members of the community greatly depends on the ongoing support provided to the Salvos by the Australian public.
Donations made to the Salvation Army ensure their centres and programs can continue to operate, allowing them to be responsive to the needs of the people they serve.
Please assist the Salvos by donating loose change to the volunteers on the concourse at the MCG as you head to the MCG for the Round 12 match, and don’t forget to bring your old scarves to help keep Melbourne’s homeless warm this winter.
