HAWTHORN defender Campbell Brown will miss at least the rest of the side's NAB Cup campaign after he accepted the match review panel's two-week sanction for charging.
The panel had offered him the two-week ban for charging Carlton's Matthew Kreuzer during the fourth quarter of Saturday's match.
The Blues' Jarrad Waite has also taken the panel's sanction, accepting a reprimand and 93.75 demerit points towards his future record for striking Hawk Tim Clarke.
Brown joins three other suspended Hawks. Luke Hodge (one week), Jordan Lewis (two) and Shane Crawford (three) are already suspended for the opening week of the season, a March 23 MCG date with Melbourne.
The match review panel also assessed the following incidents, none of which were deemed to require further action:
* The match day report laid against Port Adelaide's Tom Logan was dismissed. The panel decided that Logan did not swing his leg or deliberately trip Sydney's Luke Ablett.
* As there was no grappling or vigorous action between Carlton's Kade Simpson and Hawthorn's Lance Franklin, the match-day reports against each player was dismissed.
* Hawthorn's Josh Kennedy also had his match-day report thrown out. The panel deemed his action to not be reportable as the player had no real alternative to contest the ball.
* Contact between the North Melbourne's Leigh Harding and the Brisbane Lions' Jamie Charman was reviewed. Harding attempted to spoil the ball and made high contact to Charman on the follow through. In the opinion of the panel, his action was not a striking motion but an attempt to spoil the ball.
* Contact between St Kilda's David Armitage and Geelong's Andrew Mackie was reviewed. Armitage's action was not deemed a trip as he had his eyes on the ball as he tried to kick the ball off the ground.
