After going down to the Saints in an error-ridden contest atTelstra Dome, the Hawks are still very much a chance to remain in the top fourat the end of the home and away season.
The 25-year-old said the team had worked too hard to let itall slip at this late stage of the year.
“We’re very confident we can go into the last six games andwin them,” he said.
“If we play as well as we can we can win them all.”
The Hawks tackle the Roos next Sunday is a game that shapesas pivotal for the final four aspirations of both sides.
Guerra believes the lessons learned from the 17-point lossto the Saints will hold the side in good stead against the resurgent Roos.
He also believes the senior core hold the team’s fortunes intheir hands.
“That’s where the older blokes have to really stand up,” hesaid.
“If we have a young bloke whose on one week and off the nextwell we have to have the senior blokes up to try and take up that slack.”
A host of key players including Chance Bateman, ShaneCrawford, Jordan Lewis, Ben Dixon and Ben McGlynn were well down on normaloutput against the Saints.
Last week’s hero Jarryd Roughead struggled to get into thegame. He had just seven touches and failed to kick a goal.
The former Power and Saint player said it was no disgrace tolose to his former side who he rated a very good and professional outfit.
“No one ever likes to lose games, but (St Kilda) are a goodteam, and I’m sure the boys will learn something out of the game and use thatto come out and beat the Roos this week,” Guerra said.
“Turnovers in the back half cost us.
“If we get those mistakes out of our game then we’re rightup there with a chance of winning.”
Aiding those chances this week is the return to AuroraStadium. The Hawks are unbeaten at the ground in 2007 and boast a four-pointwin over tearaway leader
“The boys love getting down there and we haven’t lost therethis year,” he said.
“The competition is so close and if you drop a couple ofgames in a row then suddenly you can be seventh or eighth or even out of theeight. We just have to find a way to win.”
