Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

7. Michael Osborne

Today I look at Michael Osborne who will wear the number 7 guernsey again in 2012.

Ossie's been a big part of our footy Club for the best part of 10 years now, he played his 150th game at the end of last season.

Ossie is a fair barometer for our side - it seems whenever he's playing good consistent footy from week-to-week then Hawthorn are a good chance of winning games. His strength is in his competitiveness and ability to play a variety of roles for us.

He has a terrific engine, great speed and the capacity to kick on both left and right feet, he's able to snap some pretty inspiring goals for us - he's a very important member of our side when he's fit and firing.

Ossie has played a pretty consistent role for us in the last few years and we anticipate that if he and Chance Bateman, Shane Savage, Issac Smith - these type of players can roll through half-forward and wing positions with consistency this year then our flexibility as a side and our goal kicking options are improved remarkably.

His pre-season to date has been strong, I look forward to his performances this year as he helps us drive up the ladder.

Tomorrow, I'll look at guernsey number 6 - Josh Gibson, until then, share your thoughts on Michael Osborne below.
