Thank you for my Certificate of Appreciation. My fondest memory as a Hawthorn member came at a time of tragedy for my family, when one of my grandsons had an accident that left him a paraplegic.

As David was also a Hawthorn supporter, my daughter rang the club and asked if they could send him a poster, signed by all the team of 1999 to cheer him up. Imagine his delight when instead of a poster our captain Shane Crawford came to see him at the Austin hospital and spent an hour with him telling him all the latest news of the team. It’s a moment I’ll never forget and treasure the photos we took.
