NEWLY crowned Hawthorn premiership player Michael Osborne says he has never experienced being on such a "high" until he winning on that one day in September.

Osborne said playing in the club's 10th VFL/AFL premiership was truly a remarkable feeling.

"The boys have worked hard all year and it's paid off," Osborne told afl.com.au.

"We were pretty confident in the second half. The boys worked hard and they were tired, but they just kept chipping away and kept at it and kept running and tackling.

"We just needed that confidence, and I didn't know when that last quarter was going to finish, because it felt like it was going forever.

"My head has never been buzzing like this before – it's just a great feeling. We're a close bunch of boys, and it's the ultimate reward."

Osborne said going through some tough times – he was delisted and redrafted as a rookie and also experienced some serious injuries early in his career – had made it all worth it.

"It's been tough for myself. I've worked hard at it, but there are 44 blokes who have worked hard who have put in the effort for this, and I can't thank them enough," Osborne said.

"They've put in as much effort as I have, and it's a team sport, and this is the ultimate reward.

"We play to win a flag and we've got a medal around our neck now, so there are 22 boys who are just ecstatic."
