Fans ventured out into the grey and overcast day to support the Hawks at their pre-season open training session this morning on the oval at the Ricoh Centre.

Players enjoyed the mild but muggy conditions where they split up into groups to participate in stations where they worked on strength training, ball handling drills, mini-practise matches and marking practise.

New recruits Andrew Boseley and Jarrad Boumann mixed well with the likes of Sam Mitchell, Chance Bateman and Stephen Gilham in a mini-practise match, while Josh Gibson (sporting a new haircut) took Sam Grimley and Taylor Duryea under his wings during some ball handling drills.

Hawks supporters lined the concourse to get a glimpse of their favourite players in action, with plenty of kids and families around to show their support.
