A handful of Hawks players donned their junior football club jumpers at training this morning at Waverley Park.
The junior guernseys highlight the importance of grassroots football in the AFL community for the lead up to Round 1.
Tasmanian-born Grant Birchall spoke to the media and mentioned his delight at having the opportunity to wear his Devonport Magpies jumper again.
“Were celebrating grassroots footy - it’s great to whack on the guernsey,” he said.
