Pre-season football training usually involves long, lonely hours of hard work on the track or in the gym, with only your teammates and coaches to spur you on.

But today, at the Club’s regional training day in Pakenham, Hawks players had a crowd of over 1000 local residents to showcase their skills to.

Following their training session, the players ran a skills clinic for young members and supporters which included kicking, handballing, marking, bumping and running drills.

The kids especially relished the opportunity to practice their specky skills, using big bags and a Hawks player as leverage to soar high like their AFL heroes.

Club mascot Hawka made a special guest appearance, signing autographs and posing for photos with his fans.

After the clinic, the kids were able to get their favourite players’ signatures and photographs at the autograph signing session.

The Club would like to thank Pakenham Junior Football Club for their assistance in organising the day and for providing the great regional venue.
