Hawks defender Brent Guerra underwent scans this morning that have confirmed he has sustained a tear to his hamstring. Scans also showed a significant amount of bleeding at the injury site.

Guerra injured his left hamstring in the fourth quarter of last night’s match against the West Coast Eagles.

Initial treatment will focus on reducing the bleeding at the injury site, and the Club will have a better indication of the extent of the injury as it settles over the next 3-4 days.

General Manager - Football Operations Mark Evans said, “Brent’s got some work ahead of him to be in a position to play again this season, and the Club will explore every option to support and assist him.”

“Over the next 3-4 days we’ll work on reducing the bleeding in his hamstring. Brent’s a diligent player and we expect him to make every effort in his rehabilitation.”
