Mentoring Connections: an initiative for adults with Down Syndrome
A program designed for adults with Down syndrome to work towards achieving personal goals that enhance their independence: eg managing money, using public transport, employment opportunities, learning how to cook.
What is involved?
• You will be matched with an adult with Down syndrome
• Together you will participate in a one to one mentoring program
• Running over 10 sessions
• Meeting approximately once a fortnight
Who will be taking part?
Adults with Down syndrome aged 18+ years
Who are we looking for?
Adults aged 18+ who reside in Victoria who:
• Are willing to learn about Down syndrome
• Desire to support others achieve their goals
• Desire to be involved in the life of someone with Down syndrome
• Have the ability to communicate with a variety of people, especially those with a disability
• See solutions and opportunities and have connections in their communities
