Many Dream Teamers would have been well advised to not select Roughead in their teams this season, given both his comeback season and his lofty price tag - $414,600. Four games inot his return, however, Roughead should be seriously considered. A dual position player (forward and ruck), Rougheads not only provides Hawthorn with a number of options on the field, but for Dream Teams as well.
In his return game against the Cats, Roughead returned a modest score of 68 Dream Team points from 16 disposals. His follow-up game against the Crows, however, netted the big man a score of 110 and a number of fans in the world of fantasy footy. Roughead gathered 22 possessions and laid eight tackles in the Hawks' win over the Crows, delighting the Hawks faithful. A modest 69 against the Eagles was forgotten after his first half against the Swans on Sunday, where he booted five majors and loomed the match winner. With limited opportunities presenting in the second half, Roughead still managed 89 Dream Team points from 14 possessions and five goals.
His price dropped $9,400 after his third match, but with an average of 84 points per game, his price rose $2,400 this week. That means, that as he continues to gather momentum, his scores will gather their own.
Round 6 spotlight
Brad Sewell ($400,500) - Sewell continues to fly under the radar in a side littered with Dream Team stars. He continues to do his job week in, week out and his desire to tackle and win the hard ball translates to scores in the land of Dream Team. Sewell managed another score of 91 against the Swans, to back up his efforts against the Eagles (92) and Collingwood (97). His average sits at 84.2 and with his price dropping just $1,000 this week, this is likely to be the cheapest he’ll be all season.Jordan Lewis ($427,300) - The Hawks vice-captain is owned by just 11,720 coaches, and as a dual position player (midfield and forward) this is astonishing. Lewis wins the hard ball, he tackles, he loves to get his hands dirty, meaning that he’s always in the play. He has not had a score under 86, with a high of 101 against the Eagles in Round 4. His average, 90.6.
Luke Hodge ($467,300) - Hodge made his long awaited return after missing the opening four matches with a calf injury, but his Dream Team return was not what coaches has been hoping for. Returning a score of just 47 points from limited opportunities because of the Swans’ dominance, hold off on selecting the Hawks skipper until he reaches his fifth of sixth match. His price could drop and you could be one of the lucky ones to pounce when it does.
