The Nova stars took to twitter for suggestions, before enlisting the help of fellow Nova regular, Collingwood's Dale Thomas.
Former AFL star Jason Akermanis’ challenge was deemed the best - the person whose team lost is to wear the wnning team’s jumper and a pair of speedos for an early morning swim in the bay adjacent to the St Kilda Sea Baths.
Hughesy held up his end of the deal, when he proudly wore a Hawthorn jumper and a pair of Hodge speedos in the bay on Wednesday morning.
The Carlton supporter also had to swim to the buoy and back in freezing conditions.
