Dermott Brereton, Brian Coleman and the late John Peck and Peter Crimmins were honoured by the Club for their service to the Club and entertained the room with many great stories.
The evening also saw the Club looking to the future with the 2009 team being presented with their playing guernseys as guests were introduced to all 47 players in the squad.
Another highlight of the evening was the popular Confreres Player Auction where the players go under the hammer which could give the purchaser the opportunity to reap dividends throughout the season based on their player’s performance on field.
The Main Event is a celebration of the Hawthorn Football Club and a highlight of the events calendar. If you missed this year make sure you don’t miss seeing who is inducted in 2010.
