Hawka joined in with the spirit of helping victims of the recent bush fires when he was present at the  Knox City Shopping Centre last Saturday.

Victoria Police together with volunteer SES and businesses  provided Operation Safe Plate, an initiative to provide the public with tamper proof screws for their vehicle number plates to prevent theft.

Gold coin donations were taken for screws fitted to cars over the two days with over $3,000 raised.

All proceeds  will go directly to the Kinglake SES which lost almost everything in the Black Saturday bushfires.
