Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

3. Jordan Lewis

Today's feature is on Jordan Lewis who'll wear the number 3 guernsey this season.

Having been recruited to the Club as an 18-year-old from the Geelong Falcons via Warranambool at the end of the 2004 season, Jordan has been part of a very, very significant draft for our football Club. A draft that brought us a number of players who have gone on to play consistent and influential roles for the Hawks. Many of these players have also progressed into our leadership group and have brought a great influence to the fortunes of the football Club.

Jordan is a hard bodied midfielder who's tough and forms part of a very potent midfield in terms of hard ball gets. Together with Brad Sewell, Luke Hodge, Sam Mitchell, Liam Shiels and other similar type players, they really set a great standard for that part of our game - a key attribute to being successful at the end of September.

It's our view, that Jordan probably had his best season in 2011. He's a big part of our leadership group, so we needed him to step up with his direction and strength of play throughout the course of the year which he did. His ability to become a key player in our midfield setup was very important to our progress as a side and we'll need that again in season 2012 if we're to feature heavily at the end of September.

Check back to hawthornfc.com.au to follow the progress of Hawks' #2 Jarryd Roughead who suffered a season-ending injury last year. We really missed his influence on the side so it'll be great to have him back.

Cheers for now.
