HAWTHORN has named a star-studded 34-man squad ahead of their pre-season matches against North Melbourne and Richmond at Etihad Stadium on Friday night.

Captain Luke Hodge, spearhead Lance Franklin and excitement machine Cyril Rioli are amongst the players named. Star players Jordan Lewis, Sam Mitchell, Shaun Burgoyne and Brad Sewell have also been included in the expanded squad.

Line-ups are trimmed from 34 to 22 ahead of each round-robin match, allowing for 18 players on the field, two interchange players and two substitutes. All 34 players named in the squad can be used over the course of the two matches.

The Hawks will play North Melbourne in the second round-robin match before taking on the Tigers in the final match of the night.
