The 2012 ALWAYS HAWTHORN membership theme has produced some powerful and emotional stories from Hawks members and fans throughout the season.
In mid-July, five finalists were selected from over 700 stories that were submitted through an online tool on membership.hawthornfc.com.au.
Voting was conducted on the Club’s Official Hawthorn Football Club Facebook page. Facebook fans were asked to cast their vote on whose story they believed was the best ALWAYS HAWTHORN story by ‘liking’ their favourite.
Claiming 1st prize was Robert Taylor, affectionately known as Bob. Originally from New South Wales, Bob started supporting the Hawks in 1959.
Now residing in Kangaroo Flat near Bendigo, Bob attends every Hawks home and replacement game at the MCG. In his Always Hawthorn story (below), Bob mentioned from receiving his first Hawks cap in 1962 until his 2012 members, he’s ALWAYS been Hawthorn.
Bob has won Two Presidents Lunch tickets to a selected Hawks home game.
