Having been old enough to have experienced all 10 Hawthorn Premierships and to have been able to have seen the coaches and captains of these Premierships first meet as a group is a memory that I will never forget.

The photos that have come from this very special meeting will be treasured by the Club forever.

Unfortunately my ultimate Hawk hero from the 1970’s, Don Scott was unable to attend the day having been caught up with the devastating floods in Queensland. For the 1978 photo his place was taken by the then Club President, 94 year old Phil Ryan who beamed with pride in his photo.

For the record the Club is to be congratulated for recording for posterity the following photos,

1961 John Kennedy Snr and Graham Arthur
1971 John Kennedy Snr and David Parkin
1976 John Kennedy Snr and Phil Ryan
1978 David Parkin and Phil Ryan
1983 Allan Jeans and Leigh Matthews
1986 Allan Jeans and Michael Tuck
1988 Alan Joyce and Michael Tuck
1989 Allan Jeans and Michael Tuck
1991 Alan Joyce and Michael Tuck
2008 Alastair Clarkson and Sam Mitchell

Following these photos, a group shot was taken which will gladden the hearts of all Hawks fans when they see it.  This is a fantastic photo that will become a very important pictorial document within the history of the club, something very unique to Hawthorn.
