The Club has decided to contest the rough conduct charge laid against Brendan Whitecross by the Match Review Panel from the Round 2 match.

Brendan Whitecross was charged with a Level Two engaging in rough conduct offence against Joel Selwood during the final quarter of the Round 2 match between Hawthorn and Geelong at the MCG on Monday.
 
The Match Review Panel assessed the incident as negligent conduct (one point), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). The total of five activation points results in a classification of a Level Two offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction.

Whitecross has no existing good or bad record.
