Wednesday 26 September - 3 days to go

With preparations and excitement set to hit fever pitch on Thursday with the Club’s final training session ahead of the grand final, the players enjoyed a day off on Wednesday.

While the gym was quiet and the oval still, action was aplenty around the club, with preparations for training continued to accommodate the thousands of fans expected to travel to the Ricoh Centre to see the players go through their final paces ahead of the game.

Hawthorn greats Peter Knights, Graham Arthur and Shane Crawford were up for media today. The trio spoke at the Club’s spiritual home, Gleneferrie Oval.

Knights spoke of his belief that the current group of Hawks is better than the 2008 version who saluted as the premier team of the competition.

Club President Anddrew Newbold also spoke of the excitement around the Club at the City Hawks luncheon.

Newbold reiterated that clubs win premierships, not just the 22 players who wear the brown and gold on the day.

The President said he believes that as a club, we’re ready for what destiny holds on Saturday.

Shane Crawford shows his Hawks pride in  the joint press conference with Graham Arthur and Peter Knights.

The Community department again headed out to Glenferrie Road to check out the 'Hawthornised' shop fronts near the Club's spiritual home.

Cones on Gleneferrie Road is decked out in Hawks decorations ahead of the grand final on Saturday.

There's no doubt the staff at Greetings will be barracking for Hawthorn on Saturday.
