Hawks help students shine
The Hawks played host to 40 students as part of the Club’s partnership with The Beacon Foundation.
During the week, Hawthorn Football Club played host to 40 year 10 students from schools across the east, south-east and Peninsula region of Melbourne on as part of the Club’s partnership with The Beacon Foundation.
The young students were carefully selected as Student Ambassadors for the Beacon Program within their school to help promote leadership and essential life skills to their peers.
To open the day, Hawthorn’s Head of Coaching and Development, Chris Fagan led an inspiring and engaging session on what it takes to be a leader and the key fundamentals of teamwork.
The students then put their learnings into practice as they participated in various physical activities that were heavily reliant on teamwork and leadership.
Morning tea provided an opportunity for staff to meet students and share their personal stories and roles within the organisation.
This gave the students an insight into the corporate world and provided an understanding of options that may be available to them after completing their schooling.
The Club is proud to have hosted the day at Waverley Park, with The Beacon Foundation’s induction vital to the growth and development of the students and program within their schools.
