Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

22. Luke Breust

Today we feature Luke Breust who will wear guernsey number 22 in season 2012.

Luke is a player who we recruited from Temora in New South Wales.

He came from a New South Wales scholarship scheme and has been at our Club for three years now.

In that time he's progressed into a team player who can cause quite a bit of damage in the front half of the ground.

As he continues to progress through the AFL ranks, we're hopeful that he will also be able to play in the midfield. Certainly his speed and endurance shows that he'll be able to do that, and his body is definitely now strong enough to stand the rigours of week-to-week AFL football.

Luke has progressed in every level of football that he has played, from under 18s, to Box Hill, to AFL, and has always shown his capability.

His speed and agility are two things that we liked about him as an under 18s player, and he continues to show these traits as he plays in the Hawks' senior side.

'Breusty's' got a bit of a cult following with Hawks supporters - when he gets the ball you can hear the chant around the ground.

He's fitted in really well into a formidable forward line which obviously has some exciting players lined-up, and we're hoping he'll feature prominently in our games and throughout our finals campaign in season 2012.

Tomorrow we look forward to analysing Shane Savage, a player who came to the Club at the same time as Luke, who will also be important in the future of our Club.
