Hawthorn will contest Jordan Lewis' two-match sanction offered by the Match Review Panel yesterday.
Lewis will contest the charge at the AFL Tribunal tonight at 5pm.
Jordan Lewis was charged with a Level Three misconduct offence for headbutting Angus Monfries, Essendon, during the third quarter of the Round 14 match between Hawthorn and Essendon.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Essendon, the Match Review Panel assessed the incident as intentional conduct (three points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 250 demerit points and a two-match sanction. Lewis has no existing good or bad record.
hawthornfc.com.au, the Hawks facebook page and twitter account will report on the outcome of the appeal this evening.
