Over 47 days Hawks Senior Coach Alastair Clarkson will share his thoughts on each player on the Hawthorn list - from guernsey number 48 to 2.

What Clarko says

13. Kyle Cheney

We continue our countdown of the 2012 playing list with the profile of Kyle Cheney who will wear the number 13 guernsey in season 2012, having completed his first season at the Club in 2011.

We secured Kyle from the Melbourne Football Club in a trade at the end of the 2010 season.

He played in almost half of our games in 2011, and it was really only the depth and experience in our senior core that kept him out of the game last year.

We think he's ready to play regular footy and consolidate his spot in the side - it's just whether he will get the opportunity to do so, and only time will tell.

Kyle's a terrific lad, what we really like about his game is the way he goes about it with his resilient attitude - he's really tough and hard, and we think he's a player that will spend a lot of time playing for our footy Club.

Kyle plays most of his footy off the half-back line and he's got a nice balance between negating an opposition player and providing a rebound for us off half-back, and he can even generate some scoring opportunities for us.

We're looking forward to his progress throughout the season this year.

We really hope that he is amongst the group of 20-22 year olds that push hard to consolidate their position as we surge into September in 2012.

Tomorrow we'll feature Brad Sewell who has been a premiership player and former best and fairest winner for our Club and we look forward to him playing his 150th game at some point in 2012.
