He didn’t get off to the best Dream Team starts this season, but Hawthorn forward Cyril Rioli is starting to hit his Dream Team straps.

He was one of the best players on the ground in the Hawks 162-point demolition of Greater Western Sydney at the MCG last Sunday.

Rioli had 26 disposals, took 10 marks, laid nine tackles and booted three goals three to amass 159 Dream Team point for his 25,901 coaches.

The Hawks forward has been slowly building, however, after that slow start and his price is beginning to rise once more.

His success against the Saints, with a score of 113 was short lived, when he backed that effort up with a measly 43 points against Melbourne. We were perhaps a little too quick to write him off, however.

Since that effort in Round 7, Rioli has produced what we’ve come to know from him. That is, consistent scores of 80 plus to be one of the most reliable forwards in the world of Dream Team.

He scored 91 against the Dockers in Round 8, followed by scores of 76, 82, 95, 98, 71 and last weekend’s 159. Those scores take his overall average to 84.36 point per match, with an average of 101 in his last five games.

In his last three games, however, his average is 109.3 - but that figure is of course skewed by his 159 against the Giants.

If you’re thinking of bringing him into your team, now is the time to do so to get him at a reasonable price. From his opening price of $429,700, his price sits now at $409,000 - a saving of $19,300.

Round 16 spotlight

Lance Franklin ($511,500) - What to do with Buddy? The Hawks were confident he was right to play, but suffered a hamstring injury that will see him miss up to three weeks. So do you trade him? The answer is no way! You know he’s worth a few weeks of pain so hang onto the Hawks superstar.

Jarryd Roughead ($439,900) - His comeback from a season-ending Achilles injury last season continues to amaze, with the Hawks utility one of the best forward/ruck options in the game. He can play ruck and still be considered the dominant forward on the ground, a remarkable feat. He scored 139 against the Giants for an average of 93.6 this season.

Luke Breust ($340,300) - The former “super sub” has been impressive in recent weeks, and hit a season-high 107 points last weekend. That score accompanies scores of 97, 92 and 88 over the season, as well as consistent scores in the 70s. He is an interesting proposition.
