Hawks off to a flyer
It was all hands on deck for Hawthorn's first goal of its Round 13 clash with the Power. The brown and gold couldn't afford to be slow off the mark against the ladder leading Power and they were anything but that. Instead it was a frantic team goal that got the Hawks the first of the game and the dream start to the match.
Ol goal gets the Hawks going
Just when it seemed the game might be getting away from the Hawks, Ollie Hanrahan stepped up to the mark to snap an important major for the Hawks. The young forward picked up the crumbs at the feet of fellow young gun Will Day to slot the goal and bring the margin back to less than two straight kicks. Day and Hanrahan combining for a goal - that's a sentence we're sure to be hearing plenty of in the future.
Silky smooth from downtown
Shaun Burgoyne nailing the clutch goal from 50m out. A phrase we've been hearing for the last 20 years and at this rate will be hearing for 20 years to come. No matter how many times you've heard it, it still doesn't make it any less exhilarating when the Hawks veteran turns on the jets and slices the margin to under a goal, with a minute on the clock. The moment was made even more special given it was Sir Doug Nicholls Round. Although the Hawks didn't get over the line in the end, this piece of Burgoyne magic had every Hawks fan thinking we just might steal this one from an in-form Power side.
