Hawthorn has made five changes to its team set to take on the Crows on Tuesday night.
Youngster Mitch Lewis will get another opportunity off the back of strong form in the club’s scratch matches.
The 21-year-old, returning for fifth game of 2020, has been named at centre half forward.
With Will Day, Liam Shiels and Sam Frost all managed, Hawthorn will also recall a series of experienced campaigners to assist with the task at hand.
Captain Ben Stratton returns, along with Jarman Impey, James Frawley and Shaun Burgoyne.
“The return of these senior guys will assist with team balance, and offer some important leadership to the several young players currently in our side,” GM-Football Graham Wright said.
“We’ve also got Mitch coming in to play that tall forward role with Jonny (Patton) going out.
“After some quiet AFL appearances earlier in the year, he’s worked extremely hard to return to form so we’re looking forward to seeing him get another opportunity.”
Patton is expected to be sidelined for one to two weeks after rupturing his plantaris tendon, while Michael Hartley has been omitted.
