Hawks unveil 2020 club award winners

Missing four of the first seven games of the year through a mixture of selection and injury, Jack Scrimshaw understandably struggled to gain much momentum in the opening two months of the season.

But, playing every one of the final 10 games of the season, Hawks fans were able to see quite clearly the talent that lies within the 22-year-old as he averaged 16.4 touches, 4.2 marks and 2.1 tackles.

The youngster’s progression in 2020 was recognised at last week’s Peter Crimmins Medal count when he was awarded the Most Improved award.

With a staple item of Hawthorn’s backline for more than a decade in Ben Stratton departing the club, Scrimshaw will be one that the side will be looking for further improvement from in 2021.
