The Round 1 win over Essendon pleasingly saw all 22 players have an influence, while, at VFL level, there were strong performances across the board as well.

Box Hill Coach Sam Mitchell nominated Mitch Lewis as the most dominant player in the reserves side's win, booting two goals as well as having a "big, physical presence in the air and on the ground".

The Hawks senior forward line operated admirably though in the season opener, generating at least 90 points for only the seventh time in their last 40 games. 

Gaining some valuable match practice last week, Jack Scrimshaw was also among the stand-outs.

Mitchell praised the balance in Scrimshaw's game as he defended staunchly whilst also having an impact offensively.

Conor Nash, Michael Hartley and James Cousins have also put their names in the mix on the back of some strong performances.
